19世纪末到20世纪初，可谓印象派及现代艺术发展的黄金时代，莫内、梵高、塞尚等大师，通通活在这个世代，留下不少传世经典。众位现代艺术大师的重要作品，下周将在伦敦同场上拍，作品大多罕见人前，其中领衔的莫内2米高巨作《垂柳与睡莲池》更是从未公开展出，以下为大家介绍这场超级拍卖。
专场名为《隐世异彩：私人珍藏重要印象派及现代杰作》，23件拍品全由同一位藏家所有，总估价超过£1亿（RMB 8.6亿）。行方未有公布他的身份，只知道来自美国，但能够将一众大师的代表性作品一一收归旗下，来头肯定不少。

先由其中领衔作说起，莫内（Claude Monet）2米高巨作《垂柳与睡莲池》于1916年至1919年在吉维尼（Giverny）的花园绘成，时值一次大战，当时莫内亦步入晚年。 1914年一战爆发，莫内经历丧妻和丧子之痛，崩溃得无法作画。数月后，与他份属好友的法国政界巨人「法兰西之虎」克列孟梭（Georges Clemenceau）前往吉维尼拜访，希望他重新振作。克列孟梭曾两任法国总理，领导法国取得一战胜利。
岂料克列孟梭看到的莫内令他大感意外，没有沉醉抑郁，反而找到新的创作方向，开始创作一系列睡莲画作。 《垂柳与睡莲池》也是其中之一。即使战争爆发，甚至德军迫近巴黎，莫内也没有停止作画。他甚至豪言，如果他们要杀我，我就与这些画作一同受死。

《绽放的睡莲》
《垂柳与睡莲池》描绘一棵吉维尼花园内的巴比伦柳树与池中睡莲的互动。除了捕捉光影和色彩之外，更锐意画出水面下的黑暗，估价£4,000万（RMB 3.4亿）。
《垂柳与睡莲池》原本由莫内儿子Michel拥有，从未公开展出。给大家一点资料，莫内同时期作品《绽放的睡莲》去年在纽约佳士得的洛克菲勒「世纪拍卖」连佣以US$8,460万（RMB 5.4亿）成交，创下莫内个人拍卖纪录。

另一幅焦点拍品，要数现代艺术之父- 塞尚（Paul Cézanne）的《静物：桃与梨》（Nature morte de pêches et poires》，估价£2,000万（RMB 1.7亿）。此画绘于1885至1887年，当时他在法国南部普罗旺斯自我流放，为创作寻找新的路向，是塞尚创作生涯中一个重要时期。
画中绘画一盘色彩缤纷的水果。有别于一般印象派作品，试图捕捉事物瞬间牵起的感觉。这位法国艺术家单纯从理想中的绘画逻辑，描绘自然世界。据讲他绘画此画时，花了很长时间挑选合适水果，找出合适排位及角度，就以桃与梨红绿两色带出和阶感觉。法国著名印象派画作藏家Ambroise Vollard向塞尚购下画作，之后经历数次转手，过去40年从未登上拍卖场。
梵高（Vincent van Gogh，1853-1890）《束红发带的女孩：左侧面半身像》｜估价：£8,000,000 - £12,000,000

《束红发带的女孩：左侧面半身像》绘于1885年，是梵高游历安特卫普（Antwerp）期间之作。这位荷兰画家初期爱以乡村生活入画，后来到城市游历生活，开始绘画都市景貌和肖像画。今次上拍的这幅绘画，正是这段转折时期的创作。
这段期间，梵高常参观博物馆，参考各大名家的风格，其中最受古典肖像画大师鲁本斯（Peter Paul Rubens）影响：用带红色彩绘画人脸，就如画中人粉色肌肤和头上的鲜红蝴蝶结。到后来巴黎时期，梵高画作采用较鲜明色彩，相信亦是由此而起。此画最初由梵高赠予好友Émile Bernard，自1945年以来从未登上拍卖场，近20年未作公开展览。
雷诺瓦（Pierre-Auguste Renoir，1841-1919）《树林里的小径》｜估价：£7,500,000 - £10,500,000
站在林中小径的人，是雷诺瓦自己。
法国画家雷诺瓦（Pierre-Auguste Renoir）的《树林里的小径》，绘画巴黎市郊枫丹白露（Fontainebleau）的森林一景，是雷诺瓦典形的印象派画作。此画于1874至1877年绘画，就在雷诺瓦与莫内在1874年举行了首次印象派画作展览后不久。
枫丹白露是1820年代法国画家的热门绘画地点。这种捕捉大自然互动的场面，在常见于莫内后期的睡莲系列画作。画中站在树林中间的游人，就是雷诺瓦自己。有分析认为，雷诺瓦希望借此映衬他在法国艺术史上的地位。
