西方古典画作今周在伦敦大卖。继佳士得后,苏富比亦交出漂亮成绩。古典油画夜拍交出86%高成交率,全晚斩获£3,020万。此场焦点落在£948万(RMB 8,180万)成交的《祈祷中的基督》上,画作上面竟然暗藏肖像大师林布兰(Rembrandt,1606-1669)的指纹。

画作全名为《双手交叉的年轻男子头像习作,祈祷中的基督》。在林布兰笔下,基督不再是拜占庭式的救赎者,而是有血有肉的凡人。画中男子沉浸于祈祷当中,私密而动人的时刻提醒艺术家:基督是神,但亦生而为人。

此画可能是一幅叙事油画或版画的预备习作,场景应该是《圣经》中耶稣基督在客西马尼园向天父祷告的情节。它属于一组七幅相类的油彩素描,每幅尺寸几乎相同,皆绘于橡木板上,现藏于世界各地的博物馆之中。

画作符合大家对林布兰绘画方式的理解:一气呵成,落笔迅速,调整修改时颜料仍然湿润。专业修复师画上发现指纹(上图),相信属于画家本人,分布在画板底部边角的原颜料层上,进一步证明作品完成速度之快。

据记录,油画最后一次公开露面是1956年,在瑞典首都斯德哥尔摩展出。此后,画作在市场上销声匿迹半世纪之久,直到2011年再现人间。今次拍卖以£820万落槌,超过估价范围,连佣£948万成交。

查理二世年少凄惨,18岁时父亲查理一世在内战中失败而亡,20岁加冕登基后随即要逃到国外,颠沛流离。近10年流亡生涯中,他饱尝忧患,故复位后来个「及时行乐」,不但重新开放娱乐场所,让妓院、酒馆、马场、戏院恢复昔日喧嚣,本人也经常寻花问柳,遂有「快活王」之称。
